The IRS has issued the following updated high-deductible health plan (HDHP) definitions and health savings account (HSA) contribution limits for 2025:
- HDHP deductible: HDHPs must have deductibles of $1,650 or more for self-only coverage and $3,300 for family coverage.
- HDHP out-of-pocket maximum: Deductibles, copays and other expenses, excluding premiums, cannot exceed $8,300 for self-only coverage and $16,600 for family coverage.
- HSA contributions: HSA contribution limits are $4,300 for self-only coverage and $8,550 for family coverage. These limits represent increases of 3.6% and 3.0%, respectively, over 2024.
