The Regence member ID card allows employees to access their benefits and receive care nationwide. And now, it’s easier than ever for new enrolling employees to get their member ID card digitally with our SMS ID card feature. The SMS ID card feature sends a short text message notifying employees when their digital ID card is ready for viewing. This text message will be sent to employees three to five business days before their physical ID card arrives in the mail, enabling them to save a digital copy to their mobile device and create an account on regence.com.
Since we launched the SMS ID card feature, more than 13,000 members have viewed and downloaded their digital member ID card on their mobile phone, and most have registered and created an account on regence.com. Creating a regence.com account enables employees to receive personalized health insights and access provider search tools, telehealth benefits, wellness resources and more features to help them get the most out of their benefits.
For employees to receive this notification, we need to have their mobile phone number and email address on file in our eligibility system. Employees will receive a text message with instructions for viewing a copy of their digital member ID card, or they can opt out easily via text messaging.
Here’s a sample of the messaging we’ll send to eligible subscribers:
Hi [FIRSTNAME]. Welcome to your Regence health plan! We’re working with your employer to make sure you have access to your digital member ID card right away—so you can start making the most of your benefits upon your plan’s effective date.
Reply GO to access your digital member ID card.
Review text messaging terms at regence.com/messaging-terms. If you’re not [FIRSTNAME], reply WRONG. For help, reply HELP, or reply STOP to end messages.
Employees will receive this single text message if they are newly onboarding or there is a change to their member ID or group ID.
