September 24, 2020
Effective Jan. 1, 2021, our popular Employee Assistance Program (EAP) that’s embedded in all small group plans will be enhanced. The EAP is also being extended to Individual members as our Individual Assistance Program (IAP).
Valued for providing a wealth of early intervention and support services to members, an EAP/IAP can help members quickly and privately resolve personal issues—such as negative stress, depression, anxiety, alcohol and drug abuse, absenteeism, insomnia and problems at work—before they become bigger problems. Without early intervention, these unresolved issues may lead to dangerous or tragic outcomes at work or home.
The Regence EAP/IAP provides the following core features:
- Member counseling: 24-hour confidential crisis help from licensed counselors delivered via face-to-face sessions, telephone, televideo, chat and email
- Member life-balance resources: Child care and elder care referral services, financial services, home ownership program, identity theft recovery services, legal and mediation services, will and other legal forms, and more
Workplace (employer support and resources): Telephonic supervisor consultations, on-site orientations, topical trainings, critical incident response and online supervisor resources
Our EAP partner, Reliant Behavioral Health, has recently launched several website enhancements, a new mobile app and member chat.
New EAP website features:
- Mobile-friendly access
- Legal library and forms
- Financial tools and FAQs
- Well-being assessments
- Relationship and family resources
- Skill builders
- Videos
- Articles and tip sheets
Savings center
New app:
- Mobile access to resources on the work-life balance site
- Business hours access to clinicians for questions and program information
- EAP summary and access to webinars and trainings
Certified for iOS and Android
New AI chat (Tess):
- Tess is a free chat feature available on demand 24/7 for emotional wellness support.
- This tool helps build resilience and self-awareness by enabling the practice of coping skills.
- Reminders and check-ins help boost wellness and reinforce skills learned.
The more chat sessions a member has, the more Tess will learn the member’s needs and preferences.
Online peer support is also now available, offering flexible options for members to join support meetings. Peer support groups are confidential and led by certified peer specialists or recovery coaches and are available to address a variety of topics, such as depression and mental well-being.
EAP info now on member ID cards
It will soon be easier for members to access their EAP services. Beginning with Jan. 1, 2021, effective dates, the EAP toll-free phone number will be printed on member ID cards for members in small groups and those in 51+ groups that have purchased this valuable program.
Today more than ever, our EAP/IAP tools and resources offer an added level of support for members when and where they need it. Please be sure your clients are aware of their EAP and are using it to the fullest.
