We’re expanding employees’ access to convenient in-home care

Many Regence members can receive on-call care in their homes for urgent, non-life-threatening medical needs through DispatchHealth. An in-network provider, DispatchHealth helps members avoid unnecessary trips to an ER or urgent care clinic by receiving medical attention at home. It’s convenient and offers care at a cost comparable to urgent care.

DispatchHealth is available to Regence group, Individual and Medicare Advantage members in select areas in 20 states, including parts of the Portland, Seattle-Tacoma and Spokane metros. Effective July 11, 2024, DispatchHealth will be available to Regence members in Salt Lake County, Utah.

Delivering on-call, same-day medical care in members’ homes

DispatchHealth’s trained emergency medical professionals can treat a variety of conditions, including cuts, lacerations and abrasions, infections, mild to moderate abdominal pains, severe cold and flu symptoms, and sprains and strains. They can even order prescriptions.

All members are screened over the phone before their appointment. If more advanced care is required, DispatchHealth will direct the patient to an ER or urgent care clinic.

In-home care after hospital discharge

DispatchHealth also offers in-home care for patients after they’ve been discharged from a hospital, skilled nursing facility or inpatient rehabilitation center. Within 24 to 72 hours of discharge, DispatchHealth visits the member’s home to assess their status and ensure they have everything they need to recover—including a scheduled visit with their PCP.
